Ali Zimmer announces she will be attending the 2014 UCI Downhill Moutain Bike World Championships in Hafjell, Norway!
Here’s what the bike racer mom living in Lincoln, VT says about how this opportunity of a life time came to be:
“While at Mont Sainte Anne Friday evening I received an interesting email from USA cycling, stating I had been chosen for the USA World Championship team. Initially I thought it was a mistake and laughed with Dylan about it. A couple hours later however, Dylan noticed a link to the USA Team selection for the 2014 World Championships in Norway. The email had not been a mistake. I lay awake that night in disbelief, Norway, World Champs!!! It has taken a few days to digest, yet in the end this is an opportunity my heart and drive will not let me pass up. The start of my business, Synergy in Motion (a PT practice in Bristol, VT as well as a house call practice) in mid-September makes my ability to fund this extraordinarily challenging, but the strong encouragement from friends and family reminds me to seize the day, CARPE DIEM!”
With a string of recent DH racing victories and currently leading the Pro Womens category of the ProGRT Series she’s carrying incredible momentum with her, but needs your help to get there. Help us help Ali today!
To help cover the significant cost of competing overseas Ali is humbly asking for your support to help her get to Norway. Along with endless gratitude, perks for contributing to her IndieGoGo fundraising campaign include sponsor swag (stickers, tees, etc), Champlain Valley Apiary honey, and personalized Physical Therapy sessions with Ali. The Alchemist Brewery of Waterbury, VT will also be holding a fundraiser party later this month with beer, food, music and more- stay tuned for details.
She leaves for Norway August 30th, please contribute to help Ali achieve her goal today!
Gwarn!
