For a festival to be organized in as little less then a month is quite the feat. The B3 (gostowe.com/b3fest) or “Bikes, Bev’s, Beats Festival” was a full on summer weekend bash with plenty of sunshine and good times! All Stowe area bikes shops participated as well as dozens of restaurants and retailers. By go time it was a well organized effort attracting locals and bikers from throughout New England.

Intermediate and advanced riding tours of Stowe left Cady Hill lot over the course of the three day event. Beginner rides were available at the Trapp Family Lodge and from AJ’s Ski and Sport.

Tad, from Let’s Get Outdoors kids camps, offered a beginner kids ride, not only instructing them in the ways of mountain biking but also offering interesting tidbits of area history and nature facts.

Riders from out of town got a special treat from Sushi Yoshi (no, not a bonus roll) on the Mansfield Cycles Epic Ride Saturday. They were saved from a nasty climb with a shuttle ride from the Sushi Yoshi bus up to tour Sterling Valley.  After a long downhill, the group got to explore the town loops, Strawberry Farm, Trapps (beer) and Adams camp.

Plan ahead because next year’s B3 Fest will be bigger and better.  With new trails being built in the Town Loops, and the potential for lift service mountain biking at Stowe Mountain Resort, this will be one bike festival not to miss.
