Recently we reviewed the Pittsfield bike trails (“The Best Kept Secret in Vermont”) and local trail guru Matt Baatz liked it so much he threw one of our quotes up on the entrance sign to the area. Last year when very few people knew about the trails I was working very hard to sweeten the downhills with berms and rock armor. I talked to a local about my labors and he got it right away, “build it and they will come,” he said. On those frustrating days when it seemed like I would never reach my goals this became my mantra. So when Vince had the same insight, it was incredibly validating. It felt like my work was finally coming into fruition.
