Brought to you by MTBVT & the Kingdom Trails
March 9th, 2013 – Dashney Farm Nordic Center, Kingdom Trails, East Burke, VT
Mountain Bike Vermont and the Kingdom Trails are at it again, collaborating to bring you the second annual Winterbike SixCross race.
The unforgettable highlight of last year’s WinterBike celebration was the thrilling SixCross snow DH race. Get stoked race fans and high-flying “Evil Knievels” because it’s back with a vengeance. This time ‘round the jumps will be bigger, the course will be faster, and the crashes will be… crash-e-yer.
Vermont’s own freeride ambassador and IdeRide operator, Knight Ide, will be letting his imagination and machinery go wild to sculpt a one of a kind course. Last year’s race saw a combination of DH bikes, trail bikes, and even fat bikes plant their tires in the starting gate. In the inaugural event Vermont trailbuilder and strongman Brooke Scatchard ran away with the win on his suspension equipped Pugsley. Can he do it again or has the rest of the field he crushed been training all summer and winter?
The 6X is a “run-what-you-brung” format with fatbikes vs DH bikes vs XC bikes. If it rolls on two wheels downhill and you think you can make it to the finish line then run it! six competitors will race in consecutive heats with the top two finishers progressing to next rounds.
No studs or chains are allowed.
