Mount Snow Bike Park Begins Full Lift Schedule for the 2015 Season

West Dover, VT (July 1, 2015) – Starting Wednesday, July 1 downhill mountain bikers of all abilities will be able to enjoy chairlift access to Mount Snow’s legendary terrain five days a week with the Canyon Express Quad spinning from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday – Sunday through the end of August.  Mount Snow Bike Park has been open on weekends and Wednesdays since May 23.

Mount Snow was one of the first resorts in the country to offer lift served downhill mountain biking with the sport making its debut at the southern Vermont destination back in 1986.  Celebrating its 29th year this summer, Mount Snow Bike Park still offers the gnarly, steep and narrow trails it has always been known for but has also made significant efforts to get more people into the sport.

“After we built Trail 7 a couple years ago and started our First Lift and First Drop programs, we’ve seen an influx of cyclists who have only done road biking coming here to give downhill a try,” said Reggie Bartlett, Mount Snow’s retail director and one of the people who started the bike park in 1986.  “With five days of riding, great programs, a talented trail crew and new rental fleet we’re set up well for an awesome season.”

Trail 7 is the East’s longest lift served introductory downhill trail that stretches nearly three miles with a mellow grade, smooth berms and a wide, packed surface to help first-time downhillers get comfortable letting gravity do the work.  First Lift and First Drop are learn-to programs that include a lift and trail pass, full suspension rental bike, helmet, pads and instruction from one of Mount Snow Bike Park’s experienced guides.

The Bike Shop bolstered its rental and demo fleet for this season, adding more than 20 brand new Scott Voltage and Gambler bikes only a year after introducing the same number of new bikes to the fleet last season.

The Bike Park will host an Eastern States Cup downhill race and enduro race the weekend of July 31 – August 2 with some of the best talent on the East Coast expected to be on-hand to take on the mountain’s technical terrain.
