Burke Bike Park at the Kingdom Trails has made it into an elite group of twelve finalists to have a free trail built for them by IMBA trail solutions, sponsored by Bell Helmets. We’ve been Kingdom Trails and Burke Bike Park fans as long as we can remember, and they’ve been superb MTBVT partners and supporters since our humble beginnings.
Let’s do our part and vote to help them win. Voting is open until April 12th on Bell Helmets’ Facebook page. Simply go to the “Bell Built” app, select “Flow Trail Projects”, click the “Select Project” radio button under Burke Bike Park, and click “Submit Your Vote”. That’s it, totally painless.

Here’s what Kingdom Trails’ Trail Boss CJ Scott has to say:
“I recently wrote a grant application for the Bell Built Trailbuilding Grant Program who is partnering with the International Mountain Bicycling Association. Out of the over 100 applications that were submitted, we were chosen as one of the 12 finalists!
This is a $100,000 grant funded through Bell Helmets that will be split 3 ways for three separate trail projects. The three categories are for a pump track, flow trail, and a DH trail and each category has 4 finalists. The grant that I wrote was for a beginner level flow trail to be built in the Burke Bike Park on the half completed Lodge Trail. This trail is expected to be a perfect introduction to anyone new to the lift accessed bike scene and will allow for new riders to safely progress their skills. The trail will be built consisting of rollers, berms, and low lying wood built elements and will open the door to the sport of mountain biking for kids and adults alike.
It is also very exciting not only for KTA and the riders, but also for the entire Northeast Kingdom community, as money from this grant will be used in various local outsourcing such as materials and equipment. The trail would be constructed and designed by the IMBA Trail Solutions crew, KT’s Trail Crew, and local volunteers.”
