Smugglers Notch Resort develops MTB program

We had heard rumor of a MTB program being developed at Smugglers Notch for some time now. We’re pleased to announce that Smuggs mountain biking has been launched this fall.

Developed by friend and fellow rider Rick Sokoloff , Smuggs had been hosting riders this summer in a pilot program limited to paying guests. Now that a small pumptrack has been constructed and some of the various single and double tracks on the property have been reconditioned, they are opening their doors to the public. Here’s a list of some of their current offerings:

Mountain Bike Fall Specials

  • Learn to Mtn Bike clinics – daily at 10 am
    Learn the basics of mountain biking in this one and a half hour clinic. You will have fun and gain more confidence while learning proper body position, shifting, and other tips to prepare you to hit the trail! Clinics are limited to 6 participants. $48 per person, bike and helmet included. Program meets at Three Mountain Sports.
  • Group Rides – daily at 1 pm
    If you are ready to explore the trails with your mountain bike, then this group ride is for you. These tours are at a moderate pace and will help you gain confidence out on the trail. Age 15 & up. $30 per person, minimum of 3 participants needed for program to run. Basic mountain biking skills required. Program meets at Three Mountain Sports.
  • Guide Service for all local trails – on demand
    Ride with a personal guide to explore some of Northern Vermont’s best single track. Guided rides on or off property, terrain is picked to suit your riding ability. Open to intermediate and advanced riders only. Please call to design what works best for you! $60 per hour up to 6 people. $200 for 4 hours. Guests must provide own transportation. Guides are limited, advance registration is recommended.
  • Private Instruction
    Private lessons are available for you, your group or family.
    $60 per hour for an individual. $90 per hour, per group (up to 6 people). 2 hour minimum. Check for availability.

In addition to the new program, Smuggs has incorporated an MTB element into this years Smuggs Fall Fest:

September 18th-21st, Smuggs Fall Fest is the place to be for music, craft beer, local food, disc golf  & mountain biking! Featuring one of the largest disc golf events in the country, the Green Mountain Championship, Fall Fest will have plenty of opportunities to both spectate, and take part in the fun planned for this exciting weekend. SMUGGS_FALLFEST

This event goes beyond DISC GOLF featuring MUSIC, CRAFT BREW, and MOUNTAIN BIKING. There will be evening events Thursday-Saturday for players that are staying on site at Smugglers’ Notch Resort.
